  2. Sooo... other than that, Jackie, how was the parade?

  3. John F. Kennedy. If you want to read a very good book about him, read this one: "Johnny We Hardly Knew Ye".
These images will always be with me. (I question the one of the closeup of the pink skirted lady with bloody white gloves, that looks fake to me.) It was truly a horrible time in our country and I can remember it well even though I was only six at the time.

    1. I agree with you about the picture with the blood being of Katie Holmes in the movie and not really of Jackie. There were several pictures of Jackie in her bloody pink dress that day and evening, but all of the authentic ones were in black and white, not color, that I have seen. Sorry.

The bad picture in my post of Katie doesn't show nearly enough blood, of course. From first lady Lady Bird Johnson's diary:

"I looked at her. Mrs. Kennedy's dress was stained with blood. One leg was almost entirely covered with it and her right glove was caked, it was caked with blood - her husband's blood. Somehow that was one of the most poignant sights - that immaculate woman exquisitely dressed and caked in blood."

      I liked the book.
